Areas of Interest Near Restful Waters

LAKE HUDSON

Restful Waters is located on Lake Hudson. Lake Hudson is a 12,000 acre lake with 200 miles of shoreline. It's best known for it's bass fishing.  https://www.travelok.com/listings/view.profile/id.4343


Lake Hudson Inn is about a mile away from Restful Waters. If you need a close place to eat breakfast or dinner, then check out their restaurant. The restaurant opens at 8:00am on Saturday morning and they serve a wonderful breakfast! https://www.facebook.com/thelakehudsoninn . 


New Life Ranch Frontier Cove is about 3 miles from Restful Waters https://newliferanch.com/ . Just past New Life Ranch is the Grand River Pumping Station, also known as The Horseshoe. It's a horseshoe shaped road that extends into Lake Hudson. 


A fun little town to visit near Restful Waters is Salina. You will find restaurants and shopping along Salina’s Historic Ferry Street Arts and Entertainment Center https://www.salinaok.org/ferry-st . A local favorite in Salina is a restaurant called Pig-N-Out https://www.yelp.com/biz/pig-n-out-drive-in-salina . 


Salina Highbanks Speedway is 10 miles from Restful Waters http://www.salinahighbanksspeedway.com/ . There are also several other RV Parks, Campgrounds and Inns near Restful Waters. 


A popular summer hangout near Salina is swimming area called Blue Hole Park https://www.travelok.com/listings/view.profile/id.19389.

GRAND LAKE O’ THE CHEROKEES

Grand Lake O’ The Cherokees is about a 10-minute drive from Restful Waters.  There, you can visit the Pensacola Dam (the world's largest, continuous multiple arch dam)  https://grda.com/history/ or reserve tickets to see a play at the Picture in Scripture Amphitheater https://www.pictureinscripture.com/ . 


A fun place to visit near Pensacola Dam is a little town called Disney. Just below one of the Disney dams is an interesting park called Little Blue Park.

ADAIR OKLAHOMA

Adair is a small town that is 8 miles away from Restful Waters. Did you forget something? There is a Dollar General located there. 


The Cross on the Prairie is located 5 miles from Restful Waters toward Adair https://crossontheprairie.com/ . The 110’ cross is visible for miles and is wonderful place to go for reflection. Plans are also in the works to build a life-size model of Noah’s Ark there. 


There is a fun family place to visit in Adair during the fall called, Faithful Family Farms https://www.facebook.com/faithfulfamilyfarms/. A local favorite for breakfast is a place called Rockin’ H All American Diner. 


The world’s largest totem pole is located 10 miles west of Adair (about 20 minutes from Restful Waters). It’s called, Ed Galloway's Totem Pole Park https://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/9058.

PRYOR CREEK OKLAHOMA

Pryor is located about 15 miles from Restful Waters. The city has many popular diners and well-known restaurant chains for dining. 


Do you need to visit a Wal-Mart or Walgreens? Then go to Pryor. Pryor is also where you will find the nearest hospital.  


If you enjoy native American art, then a great place to visit is The Rabbit Gallery https://billandtracirabbit.com/. Another fun place to shop is a local favorite called, Kla-mart https://klamart.com/ .

JUST A LITTLE FURTHER DOWN THE ROAD

There are a few places that are "just a little further down the road" from Restful Waters that might be worth a visit. 


One of those places is in a town called, Chouteau. Chouteau is about a 30 minute drive from Restful Waters. From Salina, drive about 15 minutes south, and you will reach a town called Locust Grove. That's where you will find a popular buffet with good ole' fashioned southern cooking called, The Country Cottage https://www.onlyinyourstate.com/oklahoma/country-cottage-ok/


Another 30 minutes south from Locust Grove on Hwy 82 is a city called Tahlequah. That's where you can rent a canoe and Float the Illinois River https://www.travelok.com/article_page/illinois-river-float-and-camp-trips .
